As you know, origami is the traditional art of paper folding.
Origami has its roots in China, but has been developed in Japan. In the 20th century, rules of the game have been established:
The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of material into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.
Origami in the world has been popularized by Akira Yoshizawa – Japan cultural ambassador.
One of the major symbols of Japan, is a crane bird – a symbol of happiness and life. Hence, every Japanese is able to construct it in 49 ways!
We have no doubt that origami is the ART. Although, we do not have much experience in making paper models, it inspired us to create a collection of wallpapers. Giant “paper” figure on the wall can be a great marriage of tradition and modern design. Does anyone of you have seen such a huge and showy origami?
As the theme it fits almost everywhere. From the minimalist interior, through vintage accessories, ending with a colorful children’s rooms.
Origami pattern doesn’t follow fashion. However it has the chance (with a little patience) to turn into an extraordinary, long-standing passion.
